What Coffriend is

Coffriend is for adults who are free right now to have a friendly coffee in a café nearby; it is not a dating app. These guidelines are part of the Terms of Use. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users.

The seven core rules

1. No harassment

Rule title in the app: Harassment

Insults, threats, pestering, hate speech, discrimination, sexual messages and unwanted sexual advances are prohibited. "No" and not answering are answers; contacting someone through other channels after a meetup when they don't want it is harassment too.

2. No scams

Rule title in the app: Scam

Asking for money, gifts, crypto, investment or bank/ID details, and selling, advertising or paid companionship offers are prohibited. If someone quickly pulls you to another app or asks for money, Block and report. Coffriend never asks you for payment, a password or a verification code.

3. No fake profiles

Rule title in the app: Fake profile

Use your real first name and current photos of yourself showing your face. Impersonation, a false age, more than one account or a shared account is prohibited.

4. Keep your word

Rule title in the app: Not showing up to meetups

If you can't make it, tell the other person with "I can't come" on the meetup screen. If you skip without notice and the other person says "(name) didn't come", a no-show record is created. On the 2nd record within 30 days you see a warning; on the 3rd your account is suspended automatically: 7 days the first time, 30 days the second time within 180 days, indefinitely the third time. An indefinite no-show suspension does not close your account or block your number; it is lifted if your appeal is upheld, and after a rejection you can appeal once more after 90 days. If a record is wrong, dispute it within 7 days with "I was there"; while the dispute is open the record does not count and the other person is not told. After "(name) didn't come" the two of you are not shown to each other for 90 days. Leaving for your safety ("I don't feel comfortable") is never penalised; misusing it is a violation.

5. Stay safe

Rule title in the app: Unsafe behaviour

Meetups happen at the public café confirmed in the app; inviting someone to a home, a car or a secluded place, turning up under the influence, violence, following someone, and photographing or recording without consent are prohibited. In an emergency call 112.

6. 18+ only

Rule title in the app: Under the age limit

Coffriend is only for people aged 18 or over; accounts found to belong to a minor are closed. If you think you've met someone under 18, don't go to the meetup and report them.

7. No inappropriate content

Rule title in the app: Inappropriate content

Nudity and sexual or violent photos are prohibited. Names, occupations and gender texts may not contain profanity, phone numbers, e-mail addresses, links or social media handles; two people who accepted a meetup may share contact details in the chat, while IBAN and crypto addresses are prohibited everywhere. Texts and photos are checked automatically and reviewed by a moderator; if your content is removed you are told in the app.

Also prohibited: unlawful content, using others' intellectual property without permission, automated tools and scraping, commercial use and knowingly false reports.

Our child safety standards (CSAE)

We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and any such material (CSAM). People under 18 cannot open an account. When such content or an attempt is detected or reported, the content is removed at once, the account is permanently closed, evidence is kept securely and the matter is reported to the authorities (the Turkish National Police cybercrime unit, the public prosecutor). To report, use Report in the app or write to the developer, Tahsin Büyükşahin, the point of contact, at info@perfexus.com.

Reporting and what happens next

  • From the menu of a profile, invite, meetup or chat: Report or Block and report; or Profile → Help and safety → Report someone. A person you block can no longer see you or write to you. The other person is never told who reported them; "Don't let this person see me again" separates you permanently. A copy of the last 50 chat messages is kept for the review.
  • A moderator reviews reports within 24 hours ("They didn't show up" reports and appeals within 72 hours). A profile that gets serious safety reports from two different people within 7 days is hidden until a decision.
  • Possible actions: content removal, a warning, a 7- or 30-day suspension, an indefinite suspension (with a written reason and a separate confirmation step; for serious violations without the earlier steps). If suspended you see the rule and can appeal once from the suspension screen; your appeal is reviewed again, with a written reason.
  • Chats are not read routinely; they are opened only for a support, safety or legal reason, on record. We answer lawful requests from authorities with only the information needed. If you were the victim of a crime, also go to the police; chats are deleted 30 days after closing, so don't delay your report.
