Deleting your account and data

This page explains how to delete your account and data in the Coffriend app. Coffriend is built and published by the individual developer Tahsin Büyükşahin.

Delete in the app (recommended)

1. Open Coffriend and go to the Profile tab.
2. Tap Delete my account.
3. Tick "I understand this can't be undone."
4. Tap Permanently delete my account.

Deletion starts immediately and usually completes within minutes. It also works while your account is suspended, during maintenance or on an outdated app version.

If you only want a break, you don't need to delete anything: nobody sees you unless you mark yourself as up for coffee.

If you cannot use the app

Send an e-mail to info@perfexus.com with the subject "Account deletion" and the phone number your account is registered with. To make sure the request is yours, we may send a one-time code to that number and ask you to confirm with it. We complete the request within 30 days and let you know. Only send us a code when we ask for it, and only in that e-mail conversation; never share it with anyone else.

What is deleted

• Your profile and photos, your preferences, the times you were up for coffee, your people-nearby list, your coffee hours and your "Tell me when someone opens" request
• Your device records (push token), notification settings, invite and discovery allowances, the unused invites in your invite pack and your subscription status; your purchase account is deleted at RevenueCat
• Your support code is de-linked from you and retired (never given to anyone else)
• Your block list and the other records tied to your account
• Your sign-in account (your phone number) is removed

Open invites and upcoming meetups end as an ordinary cancellation for the other person.

What is kept, and for how long

• Your chat messages are deleted on the other person's side 30 days after the chat closed.
• The people you met may still see that meetup and your short card from that time (first name, age, district) in their history; your photos are deleted. Invitations are deleted 6 months after closing, meetups 12 months after the meeting time.
• Safety and moderation records are kept for user safety and legal claims, with the link to you minimised: 6 months if no action was taken, 2 years after a sanction.
• Purchase records (if you bought something) are de-linked from you and kept for 10 years from the year after the transaction.
• A one-way hash of your phone number is kept only to stop a new sign-up with the same number: at most 2 years if your account was permanently removed, 30 days if you deleted it during a no-show suspension. The number itself is not kept.
• Backups: deleted data leaves our database backups within 14 days. Google's sign-in service removes deleted accounts from its backups within 180 days.

Deleting some data only

You can edit or remove your profile details and photos in the app at any time. For anything else write to info@perfexus.com.

If you have a subscription

Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription. Cancel it in your store settings first.
